Paul has been involved with Japan for more than three decades and spent 14 years living there. With a Japanese wife and long-standing personal and business relationships throughout Japan, his connection with Japan goes far beyond simply sourcing vehicles for export.

That background has shaped the way Toyota Camroad Australia operates today — combining Australian motorhome experience with trusted people on the ground in Japan, specialist technical knowledge and a sourcing network developed over many years.

Over the years, we've met thousands of people looking for a motorhome for very different reasons. Some were retiring. Some wanted to see more of Australia. Others had simply reached the point where they realised they had spent long enough saying “one day.”

Those conversations shaped the way we look at this business.

We became increasingly drawn to Toyota Camroads — compact Japanese motorhomes built on Toyota's commercial vehicle platform, with an enormous variety of models and layouts. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, we chose to specialise.

Today, Toyota Camroad Australia brings together experience in the Australian motorhome industry with long-standing relationships in Japan, allowing us to focus on finding, understanding and preparing Camroads for Australian buyers.

For us, the motorhome is only part of the story. What matters is where somebody takes it next.

Adrian works behind the scenes alongside Paul, assisting with research, analysis and the development of information used throughout Toyota Camroad Australia. He helps examine technical information, business questions and customer-related issues in greater depth.  

Kyle heads up the compliance and technical side of Toyota Camroad Australia and is Paul’s right-hand man when it comes to the mechanical and structural side of these vehicles. With more than 20 years of hands-on experience across the Camroad range — from the 100 Series through to the 200 and 300 Series. 

Kyle and his team know these vehicles inside and out. From compliance and mechanical inspection through to repairs, upgrades and detailed vehicle preparation, his depth of knowledge is a major part of what sits behind every motorhome we deliver.

Shinji has worked alongside Paul exclusivly for more than 35 years and leads Toyota Camroad Australia’s on-the-ground team in Japan. With a team of around 10 people behind him, he is involved in identifying, inspecting and preparing suitable vehicles before they leave Japan. 

Our sourcing is built around long-standing relationships and direct industry connections rather than public auctions, giving us a much better understanding of the vehicles we purchase before they ever reach Australia.

Takeshi leads our export operations team in Japan and oversees the office-based coordination that helps move each vehicle from Japan to Australia smoothly and efficiently. Working with a team of  six people, he manages export documentation, scheduling and shipping preparation to make sure every stage is handled properly before departure.

With many years of experience in the Japanese export industry, Takeshi plays an important role in linking our procurement and export processes together. His attention to detail and depth of experience help ensure each Toyota Camroad is prepared correctly and ready for its journey to Australia.

Toyota Camroad Australia is a specialist business based at 170 Brisbane Road, Arundel on the Gold Coast.

We deliberately focus on Toyota Camroad motorhomes rather than trying to represent every type of RV. That focus has allowed us to build detailed knowledge of the different Japanese manufacturers, models, layouts and generations of Camroad.

Our work extends well beyond finding vehicles. It includes understanding their history, arranging importation and compliance where applicable, preparing them for Australian ownership, and continuing to support customers after delivery.

Many of our customers travel considerable distances to visit us — and some secure their Camroad before seeing it in person. We don't take that confidence lightly.
